Firmin. By Sam Savage. It made me smile and made me cry. In the subway. And people gave me those old funny looks but I didn't care at all cause I was Firmin and Firmin was me. Even though Firmin is a rat in a Boston bookstore in 1960s and I'm a 21st century woman. The only difference would probably be that Firmin is far more tender, far more intelligent and far more beautiful than I will ever be.
That book has made it to my all time top ten. And there it'll stay.
